There is a slight learning curve when using the legacy system, but they are moving away from that.

Getting a list of assets on client networks and looking for misconfigurations and any aging hardware. Makes a simple network diagram that helps our remote technicians get an idea of the network layout.

Network Detective Pro is very helpful when trying to generate reports for our technology Business review meetings with our clients. Network Detective Pro Makes it easy to compile and present these much needed reports when we need them most!

The least useful thing I would say is having to use the desktop app.

It has help us eliminate wasting time and automating our process.

Network Detective Pro is a great tools to generate vulnebility scan reports for both network and security. It can also be used for generating DB, PII and even more. Its easy and user friendly GUI makes is easier to generate reports and template for onsite visits

Setup and easy but it requires alot of training and help sometimes from support. some of the articles and tutorials are still not good enought to master the tool and utilize it to the best of ones benifits

I like how much time this saves us in gathering all network information. Sure, I could find out this information manually (like I used to), but the single best way to become more profitable is through automation. This tool standardized our sales and on-boarding processes with great results.

Even though the tool works very well, it does take some time to learn all the little things that need to be done and ensure success.

This solves the problem of trying to identify all the components that make up our clients network so we can support them better and find any compliance or security issues. These days this is a critical aspect of providing value to clients as a MSP

I love the amount of information you get back.

It's mostly easy but some steps are not intuitive and weren't clear to me.

Go through instructions and run it a couple of times.

I use it to do network assessments and discovery. It provides information to document networks and identify items that need attention.

is an excellent basic tool to detect the devices that are in the network, the installation of network detective is extremely easy, the use of it if it is somewhat complicated but with the reading of the manuals that the official website provides you can perform the modules that you want to use, in my case the modules used were Network Assessment and security Assessmen, it brings relevant information that helps to know what errors there are in the network, help with inventory control.

what I do not like about the tool is that it has a somewhat complicated configuration at the server level, since there were many problems when enabling the rules that were required for the scan to be completed 100%. It brought many problems when configuring them. also the tools like network Detective data collector indicated that the firewall rules were not active and it turned out that it was. I need to discard those teams and continue with the scanning of the network.

I recommend the tool for basic use of network discovery, and to be assessment, since it has very basic functions and the reports they give are not always very clear or 100% verifiable but it helps to get some information that is necessary.

the tool is used to detect the assets of our clients' networks and even ours, with this tool we also want to give an example of how to detect some compliances and vulnerabilities that can be obtained and then give way to other more advanced tools. scans.

NDP allows for easy use by allowing scans to be completed ad-hoc on the devices that are needing to be scanned. These results are then imported and combined into an easy to follow report that can be made client facing with little adjustment.

Some of the options for deploying this to multiple devices seem hit or miss. If the enviroment is not setup exactly as NDP would like, those options can often fail which results in a requirement to either touch or connect to each device that will reqire being scaned.

It allows us to complete SRA's for our existing clients and evals for new prospective clients. The major value add is the output report that provides a well formatted summary of all results.

More features than legacy Network Detective and good improvement moving to cloud.

Could be more intuitive. ND Pro will do lots of stuff, but training new users is challenging.

Ongoing risk and security assessments as well as one off/sales assessments.

A consolidated scanner that highlights misconfigurations and risks

It is largely a stand alone product and the data is distributed among technician laptops. If the scans truly uploaded to the cloud and could be opened by others it would be solved.
