"Overleaf makes collaborative writting in LaTeX possible"

What do you like best about Overleaf?

The track changes function. It's a life-saver to now be able to edit collaborative manuscripts and have the changes tracked. Before I had to export the .tex file to word, track changes there, make changes in Word, then convert back to .tex to comntinue working in Latex. This was a very involved process and lots of things needed to be changed by hand. When Overleaf incproparted the track change feature from ShareLatex, it was a game changer and I now exclusivly work in Overleaf on Latex files, and have the paid version so I can have collaborators on the files and track their changes. Having my Overleaf files saved to Dropbox is the icing on the cake, as that way I have a backup and do not have to trust one cloud service with my important scientific manuscripts - I always have a back up without having to do anything. That's how technology should be - easy!

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

Can't do latexdiff between two latex files in overleaf, so I haven't been able to see how. So I still have to do that locally, but thanks to the overleaf-Dropbox integration I have the latex files locally and can hence easily run latexdiff from the terminal on files I want to compare and then copile the diff.tex file in overleaf without having to download or upload anything manually.

What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?

Collaborativly work with co-authors on scientific manuscripts, and track changes they make. In an easy format so even non-latex literate co-authors can just edit the text

"My go-to site to build my resume and CV"

What do you like best about Overleaf?

Overleaf offers a wide range of professional templates designed by its users to choose from and most of them are ATS friendly which makes the whole process of resume building quite easy.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

For a few issues in the latex code, Overleaf doesn't provide a proper error description to analyze. There have been times when it took a long time to find the error and fix it.

What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?

Most resume builders on the net don't generate an ATS friendly which leads to far fewer interview offers as a result. Also, many sites are not so flexible in customizing the resume.

"The best Latex editor in the market."

What do you like best about Overleaf?

Overleaf makes Latex editing, which is pretty tricky, easy to learn and execute. I had to make a resume and a thesis using Latex and didn't have any experience in latex editing, but I didn't face many problems while doing so on Overleaf. Overleaf also shows a side-by-side comparison between your Latex code and the final product, which my case, was a pdf file.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

While Overleaf provides a side-by-side comparison between your latex code and the final product, the change is not simultaneous; you have to save the content to see the difference in the final product, which is quite time-taking.

What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?

Overleaf provides the auto-completion feature for free to all users, which is very helpful to those new to Latex. It is also straightforward to add content, like headings, sections, subsections, and images in Overleaf.

"Overleaf for LATEX produced documents"

What do you like best about Overleaf?

I absolutely love Overleaf. When I got to know that something like LaTeX existed, I was confused on how I could start programming and compile my code. Overleaf came to the rescue.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

Something that I dislike about overleaf is the lack of dark mode in the editor. I would really love it if they had a dark mode feature to code so that it does not hurt my eyes when I am doing something at night in the dark.

What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?

As far as I know, there is no update to get dark mode into the website. I look forward to any and every updates that will come, as they will only help me. I hope they introduce dark mode soon.

"Best online tool to make PDF using latex support"

What do you like best about Overleaf?

Overleaf is the most widely used online tool for creating Resume, and PDFs for thesis, projects, and assignments. It supports a variety of features like latex, themes, text colors, pagination, etc. To use any element, you must first import the module at the top of the document. The PDF files created via overleaf are very little in size.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

The only thing I dislike about overleaf is the price for using the premium feature. Also, no dedicated software is available, so it only supports the web UI.

What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am using it to create my Resume for applying to Job portals. On the other side, I'm using it for completing my thesis work and assignments online. It does most of my work by just importing required modules.

"An excellent tool for creating resume and PDFs using latex"

What do you like best about Overleaf?

I wish I would have known about Overleaf a long time ago. I came to know about it during my college days when I was creating my first resume. I would like to highlight the following benefits of using Overleaf over any other PDF creator apps,

- It supports latex hence writing formulas become super easy.

- With a plethora of package support, you can represent your PDF pages in any way you want.

- The web UI is pretty straightforward, no background knowledge is needed when using it.

- The community has great support and FAQs answers. However, if you can't find your problem you can ask it on the forum.

- There are a whole lot of packages that can do basic things like heading, page numbering, indentation, line/word spacing, text font/colouring, etc with just an import of it.

- It also supports multiple people who can work on the same project by sharing them via email.

- One more way to share the project is that you can download the zip and the end-user can simply import it and use it.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

I can not think of any bad side or improvements for Overleaf. The developers have already made it very simple to use while keeping in mind that it is used by students and professionals both.

What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am using Overleaf to create my resume which I sent to the company for interviews. I have also used it to write my whole conference paper and BTP/MTP project PDF, and I must say Overleaf has made my task easy. Since it is free there is no harm in trying it once. They have also provided relief by buying the premium version during the pandemic.

"Overleaf"

What do you like best about Overleaf?

I like the workspace and the formatting library. Plus the error-correcting menu is quite helpful. The commands and the interface are quite user-friendly and anyone can use them for documentation purposes.

What do you dislike about Overleaf?

Though the error-correcting menu is very good a slight flaw in that is that it doesn't signify where the problem exactly is in the whole paragraph. So if you have an error in a large paragraph you have to re-read it.

What problems is Overleaf solving and how is that benefiting you?

I personally use overleaf to write articles and research papers, abstracts for conference papers, and presentation of research data. I have switched to overlead from word and it was a good decision.
